P A P R S B I H S R E C E I V E S N U R S I N GS T U D E N T S F R O M P R I N C E S S O FN A R A D H I W A S U N I V E R S I T Y , T H A I L A N DThe PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences welcomed 4 final year Bachelor of Nursingstudents and a lecturer from Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU), Thailand fromthe 1st to the 13th of April 2019. This group is the third to visit PAPRSB IHS, as part ofthe annual student mobility programme. Their visit was coordinated by PAPRSB IHSnursing lecturers, Dr. Yusrita Zolkefli, Cikgu Mursidi bin Haji Ali and Dr. Hanif AbdulRahman. The PNU students namely Mr. Arun Samad, Miss Husna Masa, Miss Sainura Nilah andMiss Madawah Luding, had the opportunity to carry out clinical placements at theIntensive Care Unit and Operating Theatre at RIPAS Hospital, during the visit.Through these placements, students learnt various specialised nursing skills in caringfor intensive patients and learned by observation in the operating theatre. Asimulation activity was also created at PAPRSB’s simulation centre to introduceissues relating to general care, patient safety and infection control in the operatingtheatre. Students explored the local culture, tradition and historical places in Brunei withtheir student buddies during the weekends. They also had the opportunity to pay acourtesy visit to the Royal Thai Embassy in Kiarong, Gadong. The students presentedtheir experiences to an audience of nursing officers from the Ministry of Health,PAPRSB IHS lecturers and students, at the end of the programme. This student mobility programme was inaugurated in 2017 and aimed to provideopportunities for inbound students to develop clinical skills and experience withinthe institute and hospital-based settings. This programme reflects one of the keypriorities of UBD to increase the level of internationalization by continuouslysupporting international student exchange.
