A three-day World Wide Week was held in conjunction with Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) 31st Convocation Ceremony at the Concourse Area of the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) Extension Building where international students man booths introducing their respective countries to local students and showcasing their culture.
The opening ceremony was held on October 9. The first day of World Wide Week began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and speech by Nur Amalia Aimi Na’iemah binti Haji Ramlee.
Guest of honour UBD Director of Global Relations Dr Sabrina binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Daud officiated the event.
This year, eight booths represented Russia, Japan, India, Oman, Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand featuring traditional crafts, games and food for visitors to try.
Today, UBD’s cultural clubs such as Dance Culture Club, Brunei-Japanese Friendship Association (BJFA) and Korean Culture Club will feature their talents in a night of performances to mark the last day of World Wide Week.
